About
Libby Clearfield first became interested in coaching while working as Assistant Director on one of her high school theater productions, as she realized the joy she felt in helping others bring their characters to life onstage. This passion for directing continued through college and beyond, as she directed numerous plays around the world. She became fascinated with the idea of guiding others in harnessing their full potential through performance, and in the last decade or so, has found that this translates beautifully into the world of voiceover. Whether for storytelling, commercial work, or character acting, the ability to interpret a script and convey its meaning effectively exists among both disciplines. Techniques such as breath control, vocal range exploration, and character development also overlap between the two worlds, and Libby fully appreciates helping others bring scripts to life through skilled interpretation and vocal mastery.
Libby earned her BFA in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While at NYU, she studied acting, directing, and design at Playwrights Horizons Theater School, as well as on-camera acting at Stonestreet Studios. Additionally, she participated in two study abroad programs — Tisch in London, in which she learned from various professors at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts; and Semester at Sea, a global education program in which undergraduates circumnavigate the globe, visiting nearly a dozen developing countries along the way. Continuing her education, Libby earned her MA, Magna Cum Laude, from Tel Aviv University, where she studied TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). While in Israel, Libby taught English at a public elementary school in central Tel Aviv, as well as participated in several community theatre productions, both in an acting and directing capacity.
After years of being asked by voice actors if she provided coaching, it wasn’t until Voiceover Activate officially launched in 2024 that she began offering this service. Upon doing so, she began bringing years of industry experience directly to other talent. What has surprised her most has been how deeply fulfilling it has felt. She genuinely loves helping other voice actors grow, find their confidence, and connect more fully to their work. It has quickly become one of the most rewarding parts of what she does.

Initial Consultation
The first lesson is our ‘get to know each other’ consultation. We begin with a thorough discussion to understand your background, experience level, and aspirations in voiceover work. If you are new to VO, we will also cover basic rules and booth etiquette.
Together, we will define clear and achievable goals tailored to your specific needs and objectives.

This Initial Consultation typically lasts for about 30 minutes.
Private Coaching
Based on our assessment, Libby will design a coaching program that addresses your unique strengths and areas for improvement. We will concentrate on developing skills such as voice range and versatility, script analysis and interpretation, character development, and more, depending on your personal goals.

Audition Preparation
If you have a particular audition that you’d like some help preparing, you can send your script in advance and we will dive into it together. Collaboratively, we’ll delve into detailed script analysis, intention, pacing, emotional connection, and delivery. We can hone your performance into one that is compelling, nuanced, grounded, versatile, and most importantly, bookable while being true to you.

Sessions will be scheduled according to your availability, ensuring convenience and consistent progress. Please contact Libby directly to schedule your session by emailing her at: libby@voiceoveractivate.com. She will respond within 24 hours.
*Libby splits her time between coaching, casting, and acting, so please email first to connect about scheduling before purchasing a session. You do not need to pay in advance to lock in a date. Once your session is confirmed via email, Libby will send payment information the day before your session with any materials you may need as well as the Meet link.*
Cancellation policy: Cancellations must be made no later than 24 hours prior to the session to allow Libby the opportunity to fill the time. Failure to do so will result in being charged the full session fee.
