Please note: Libby splits her time between casting, coaching, and acting, so please email first to connect about scheduling before purchasing a casting. You do not need to pay in advance to schedule a consultation. Once your casting is confirmed via email, Libby will send an estimate the day before your casting goes out, and an invoice along with the VO talent auditions once the casting has been completed.
About
With a background in Acting and Directing that dates back to the 1990s, Libby Clearfield was hired by Coupe Studios in Boulder, Colorado in 2015 as a producer and to build their casting department. The Coupe direct talent list had started as a group of 3-4 local voice actors who would offer their talents to the studio, and Libby evolved that small group into a full-fledged roster of professional voice actors from around the country, as well as internationally. With hundreds of voice talents in her database, as well as strong relationships with dozens of talent agents & agencies spanning the globe, she is sure to find the perfect voice for your job, no matter how small a demographic or specific of a sound you are looking for.
Due to Libby’s experience as an actor and coach, as well as a producer, she offers a unique perspective to her casting services, as she speaks the language of the actor while still understanding and appreciating the intricacies of production. Working as a producer at Coupe Studios for 9 years has given her the knowledge and experience of all that is involved in the audio post-production world. She has gained technical proficiency with state-of-the-art recording equipment and software, as well as experience in editing, mixing, and mastering audio to achieve polished and professional results; and she has the ability to collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision and translate it into receiving compelling performances from the voice actors they hire.

Voice Talent Selection – Direct OR Agency

Direct casting – sending breakdown to Voiceover Activate Direct Talent Roster (approximately 100 talents per gender)
Agency casting – sending breakdown to up to 10 talent agencies across the country (international if requested)
Booking Coordination
Once talent has been selected, coordinating recording session between talent/agency and client/studio. All talent are expected to have their own home studio with Source-Connect or be willing to pay to record at a remote studio.
Specialized Customization
Specialized expertise in casting for specific voice types, languages, accents, or character-driven projects, including animations, video games, and cartoons, to find voices that bring characters to life authentically.
Script Consultation

Prices are based on the following conditions:
- Talents read up to 2x :30 scripts for audition purposes. For longer scripts, there may be an additional cost.
- Casting is for 1 role, 1 gender. Additional roles and/or multiple gender options may be subject to an additional cost.
- For Direct AND Agency casting, there may be an additional cost.
FAQs
What is required in order to send out a casting?
An understanding of the project’s goals, target audience, tone, and any specific voice requirements is needed in an initial consultation. Additionally, the client will need to be provide the number of roles being cast, specs for the role(s), audition script(s), terms and usage for the spot(s), talent budget, due date for audition, and estimated record date in order to properly send out a complete breakdown to talents.
What is the turnaround time to receive auditions?
Libby typically appreciates two business days between sending the auditions and returning the selects to the client. Anything less than a one-day turnaround time might be subject to an additional fee.
Are callback reads included?
Unsupervised callback auditions for up to 3 talents per role may be conducted to further assess the shortlisted voice actors, utilizing the same audition script or a revised version. A directed callback may be an additional fee.
Does Voiceover Activate handle talent negotiation?
Before the breakdown even goes out to the talents, the terms of the project must be solidified, including all rates, usage rights, and project timelines. This ensures there is little to no additional negotiation needed.
Do you cast SAG/AFTRA talent or Non-union? What about foreign languages? Kids?
Voiceover Activate has an extensive roster of both union and non-union talent, as well as bilingual English/Spanish talents and those who speak most languages. Additionally, Libby has a growing number of kids and teens on her roster. For any demographic that she feels cannot be delivered with plenty of options, she will reach out to talent agencies and/or other resources.
